I have one of the red Hot Rod Deluxes on "Hold" at a dealer. I like the sound of my rosewood custom shop tele on it.
What I really want is an amp that I can get to overdrive at lower volumes if I am just playing it at home. Is this amp really my best choice? I like how warm it sounds , but could not get it to dirty up too much at lower volume. Am I setting it wrong, or is it the wrong amp for what I want and should I be looking at another model.
I have a Mesa F-30 that I love the sound of my Strat on, but only on the clean. I don't really like the "crunch" channel and I don't think the Tele really sounds like a Tele should or can on it.

Way too loud for home use. The HRD is rated at 40 watts, 40 loud watts! You can't turn it down to get a good practise sound out of it unless you use a volume control between the preamp and the power amp. I made one the other day and it works perfect. It can turn down low but still have that overdrive sound!
