My fear...this kind of stuff will get the forum shut down. Superpro is a pretty descent bloke. He is knowledgeable and a descent guy. He like all of us are opinionated. Nothing wrong with that. What ticked me off is Bill calling names etc. I just wish there was a way to keep opinions form turning into belittling of folks. Super, I got your back my brother.

Did we ever figure out what the next SCXD will be?

Who knows. Thanks for the support guys. That was weird. There's no need for name calling. I'm opinionated for sure, but I would never personally attack anyone. i consider all of you my friends. Hopefully, this will be the end of it.

If they go to a 12" speaker and add tube mixing like the Egnater that would be great.

Yeah this is a great thread!!!! If we drop the personal pot-shots, the various amps held up to scrutiny can be very beneficial to everyone. I for one, like the Vox ideal of a powerful Class A amp, but it actually falls short in pure class condition( a hot AB class amp). IMO It's a good idea to look and listen to as many amps as possible and share our opinions. A forum, by it's very definition is a place of meeting, to discuss issues of public interest by a select group. IMO Every person's participation, qualifies them as one of the select group. I'm open to any other definition of our forum. Art

There are lots of lower wattage amps around. Personally I liked the Night Train, Tiny Terror, the new Jet City amps look interesting and seem really inexpensive and are designed by Mike Soldano the legendary amp designer. Egnater just came out with the Tweaker, a cathode biased amp with lots of tone shaping controls.

I'd like to see the SCXD come out as a lightweight head that way if you have your own cabinets you can use them instead. Maybe dump some of the digital effects for analog ones.

Well, I love channel 1 on my SCXD and that is the only one I use. I would like the next one to have a mid range control. I really like the idea of selling this as a head and offering a couple different speaker cabinets. I wish Fender would use a better volume circuit as well so if you wanted, you could actually use a Fender amp with the volume below 2. I don't care too much for the digital effects either. I use just a little bit of the first reverb depending on the room we are playing. I've played a couple auditoriums recently that didn't need any reverb. The rooms themselves sounded great.

In my opinion, everyone sounds different though the same equipment. Some of who you are comes through no matter what amp or guitar you happen to be using.

I know experienced musicians that don't really care for the tones the Beatles got using their Vox amps. I like it and thought it was unique and worked for their songs. Most of the sounds they got were experiments and took some guts to use. I like the way other people get Vox amps to sound but for some reason they don't work for me.

Back to the music!

It usually works out that way for a lot of rooms. There is nothing like natural room reverb. We would actually put an amp in a tiled bathroom to get some great reverb sounds. With a decent amp, I don't even miss reverb.

I've seen people like Bill come and go on these forums. This is a friendly, family oriented, helpful place to exchange ideas and opinions. It's up to the rest of us to help keep it that way!! :)

Agreed Supro on your above post

Just let it go. Sometimes I think it's the same guy just coming back with a different name it's no biggie. I'm not a fan of personal insults. People post from all over the world, grammar and spelling is the least of my concerns. Neither is how much time someone posts on the forum. I've been a member since 2007. With 3400 posts that's less than 4 posts a day on average. Bill beat that yesterday. Who has no life?

I'm sure you've experimented with your pignose. Lots of possibilities with that tiny amp...

Sounds huge if you put it in a 5 gallon bucket!

I'll tell you what, that Pignose has been everywhere. It's a really fun amp and records well. Frank Zappa even used them too. 8)
It sounds a lot better than a lot of battery powered amps.
