Hey everybody,

proud owner of a brand new Fender Cybertwin SE!!

Only one question:
is there some software to backup and syncing the personal patches on the amp with my Apple Macosx computer? I already have a MIDI cable to connect the amp.

Hope to hear from you guys soon!

All the best,
Joep, from the Netherlands

Johnny may be able to tell you, but you may be able to either use Boot Camp and/or Parallels, etc. to run your iMac as a PC and use his software.

Any MIDI sequencer on your Mac that can handle sysex (system exclusive) MIDI messages should be able to act as a MIDI librarian for you. You won't be able to edit it, but you can backup.

http://www.snoize.com/ has a shareware sysex librarian; haven't used it but it may work for you.

Mark of the Unicorn's excellent Unisyn supports the CyberDeluxe; not sure if it would also work for the CyberTwin.

Good luck.

only have pc software, sorry about that.

take a look at the manuals and see if the software is for you. we do not have demo software.

the software takes nearly every function on the se and puts it up on the screen. we organized the cyber twin's functions into easy-to-understand logical groups, made all parameters instantly viewable and accessable, and we provide two editors: a player's lounge and a midi map (for the foot controller) editor. the editors are must haves if you use a sequencer (get the sequencer to send a program change) to go through the player's lounge presets - very valuable either on stage of in a studio.

that was a long-winded way of saying the software makes using the se very, very easy. that in turn, frees you to really start exploring the se. the software will definitely help you zoom in on the sweet tones and make the most use of the se.

from my own experience: start by getting the trim control to at least light up the LEDs, and get some sound, and set all tone knobs on "5" - neutral position. with the software, start with Amp Setup, the most important being the drive circuitry (tweed, Blackface, etc, ), then the tone stack. i have found the "pre-distortion" stack position to sound better. speaker polarity either in-phase or reverse - i can't tell the diff. once you get these basics done, and if i may offer one more thing, no matter what effect you go with, start with the Gain control set low, let the character of the tone & effect come through, then add Gain to suit your needs.

enjoy the amp, it's truly incredible - there is real genius behind this amp's design.

ciao,
johnny.
