Is anyone as blown away as I am (after more then a year) at how good the 66 Super Reverb setting is on the Cyber Twin SE? To my ears, it's just like the real thing. Amazing amplifier.

Preach it, brother!! I truly believe that that '66 Super Reverb patch is one of the little-known gems of the modern amplifier era. That patch was really, really darned good on the original C-T as well (although if memory serves I believe it had heavy tremolo turned on by default on the original C-T -- you had to turn that off right away to fully appreciate it) ...

Man I just love it. Add some chorus and flip to the neck pup and you're in Jimi/Trower heaven. It's just classic Fender tone. I love my CyberTwin....so many great amps in one.

Indeed! I've also actually had a lot of success running a certain green overdrive pedal whose brand name shall remain nameless in front of the C-T and C-TSE with that patch.

I'm really curious, do you have any idea what circuits were used for the the 66 Super Reverb and the 59 Twin patches?

Yea, that Super Reverb patch IS one of the best, if not the best.

But I discovered another that is working out pretty good too. It's the Bassman N.P. '59 patch. I have made three patchs from it, tweaked to taste, with some Fender Reverb. And with the "Overdrive & Tape Echo" effect added (tweaked naturally), and made foot switchable, I can get some usable blues sounds too. (the '59 & '63 Reverb custom shop patch gave me a good hint, and starting place)

Some of you might want to give it a try. That 'plain-jane' amp patch can produce some great sounds too.

Still, that Super Reverb patch has a permanent place in my 'top 4'.

The Cyber-Twin SE is one VERY nice amp Fender!!

I'm sure glad to have one. It's the best amp I have ever had or played through. My other amps stay covered up in the closets now, since getting the Cyber-Twin SE.

My THANKS to whoever is responsible for the getting the amp into production. [thumbs up]

We have similar tastes...my top 4 are:
66 Super Reverb
59 Bassman
55 Narrow Panel Deluxe
A Twin Reverb

Just imagine how much it would cost to gather all those together so you've got them at a stomp of your foot? Every one of those is so damn good.

The A Twin Reverb patch is so clean, so pristine...it's perfect. With my EJ played thru that patch, I can get a tone so close to an acoustic guitar that it's fooled people.

It's an amazing amp.

I just picked up an original version this weekend. I bought it based primarily on the 66 reverb patch. It is an absolute killer. If this amp only contained that patch , It would be worth the $500 used!!! I'm glad someone else likes it as much as me. Heck I've got solid state "Gas"!!! My tubes may go in storage!! Cheers.

and a "pleasant" welcome back to you too.

i put some starter twin settings in http://www.generalcybersystems.com/GCSWebSite/Tp.php
these take advanage of the different circuits to produce slightly different colorations.

ciao,
johnny.

I don't feel that it was his intention. I own a CT, a started the original CT topic here at Fender, and I use the GC software with my CT.

Anyone who owns a CT should consider buying the software. Why? Because with the software, besides be able to access all the CT parameters via MIDI, you can easily back-up your custom presets.

This is really important if the CT ever needs servicing. When I had a faulty logic chip replaced, all my custom presets were lost, but I was able to restore them all, back to their original banks, with a click of a mouse button using GC.

he yields to TH. that's pretty funny. and the alternative was what? kish mir in tuchas.

here's the complete super reverb 66 data dump from Cyber Commander SE:
1 "Super Reverb '66" =Preset Name ;
2 "Blackface" =Tone Stack ;
3 "Pre-Distortion" =Tone Position ;
4 "Reverse Polarity" =Speaker Phase ;
5 "Blackface Tube 2" =Drive Circuitry ;
6 "Amp Tremolo" =Effect Type ;
7 "Blackface Reverb" =Reverb Type ;
8 "FX Input Only" =Reverb Bypass ;
9 "Full Body" =Timbre Type ;
10 "Medium" =Compressor Type ;
11 "Medium" =Noise Gate Type ;
12 6.9 =Gain Value ;
13 5.4 =Volume Value ;
14 9.0 =Treble Value ;
15 5.6 =Middle Value ;
16 5.1 =Bass Value ;
17 7.3 =Presence Value ;
18 2.8 =Reverb Value ;
19 1.00 =Delay Out Level ;
20 4.76 =Tremolo Rate(Hz) ;
21 5.55 =Tremolo Depth ;
22 7.46 =Trem Duty Cycle ;
23 "5.87" =Tremolo Shape ;
24 =Dly/Time Change ;
25 9.08 =Reverb Input ;
26 10.0 =Reverb Tone ;
27 1.00 =Reverb Time ;
28 5.48 =Reverb Diffusion ;
29 5.48 =Noise Gate Depth ;
30 OFF =Noise Gate ;
31 "Tremolo Depth" =Expression Pedal ;
32 "Tremolo Rate(Hz)" =Cont. Controller ;

you'll notice the somewhat heavy use of the tremelo.

But note the amp setup:
Blackface 2 (mid distortion), predistortion, timbre, compression, and noise gate.
the gain in my opinion is a little too much.
notice the tone controls - bass & middle nearly flat, treble up & same for presence.
reverb is blackface.

ciao,
johnny.
