Hi,Can a Speaker Out line be added to the original CyberTwin?
I would like to use a 2 by 12 Extension Cabinet. Thanks, Ed

not in the usual way. each speaker has it's own separate drive circuit. so you would need two jacks, one for each speaker.

but wait one minute. before you do something like that, better disconnect the original speakers. reason is that the extra load will result in a lower impedance and this will stress the output transistors (overheat because they will pass too much current into a lower impedance) which will cause the output transistors to burn up. so mind the impedance one each side & keep each side separate.

if this does not make sense to you, please don't proceed/experiment, you might be risking permanent damage.

ciao,
johnny.

Thanks, It makes sense, But if each side is 8 Ohms can't I use a 2-12, 4 Ohm Cabinet and split them? Ed

no because the drive circuits are separate. if the impedance on a particular side is less than 8 ohms, that side will start to become stressed (overheat) and eventually burn.

so disconnect the speaker and then add an 8 ohm cab for that speaker. do same for other speaker. keep the speaker connections separate.

one more thing, the cyber twin is a stereo amp! many forget about this. so if you want to preserve the effects, you'll want to keep the speakers separate!

ciao,
johnny.

Hey guys,

I'm a first time poster so please be gentle.
I also have an original cyber twin. If I install a speaker jack for only one of the existing 8ohm speakers & have it disconnect that speaker when plugging in 8 ohm extention speaker (so as to have one original speaker working in the amp & one working in the extention cabinet) that would be OK right? I could play mono. I'm just thinking of spreading my sound to more places on stage when playing live with no extensive monitor system.
(Just a thought).

I don't know, but I think it would best to ask a amp tech person.

see my post above. each side is separate. yes you can do what you said.

caution:
do not short, do not cross wire, treat each side separately and with care.
do not use loads less than 8 ohms, the output is transistor so lower impedance means more drive current, more heat, and can result is burnt output stage transistors. that is the nature of transistor output drive circuits.

recommend: get another cyber twin. nothing like two of them setup smart - experiment, see where it takes you.

ciao,
john.

Thanks Johnny, I thought so. I might just get a Frontman 15R or something & line out from my Cyber Twin to that. It'd be a lot easier & I'd still have both my twin's speakers going.
