Does anyone know which speaker this Ltd Edition Tweed BJ has? The Fender website advertises both the P12N and the P12R so I'm not sure which one is actually fitted. Here's the product page, notice how both speakers are referenced.

http://www.fender.com.au/amplification/guitaramps/blues_jnr.php

I'm looking at buying this Tweed version but I believe the P12R is a horrible speaker in the BJ (Billm says to avoid it unless you want an old 1950's radio or Kazoo like tone!).

On the other hand the P12N is quite nice and well regarded in the BJ and I'd be more interested if that is the speaker actually fitted. I would have to order this amp so I don't want a nasty surprise.

Cheers,

Snowy.

Dear Snowy here in the states they use the Jensen C 12-N in the lacquered version called the nos it sounds pretty good unlike the one used in the relic beat up version.

The Jensen C12N tends to have ice picky highs which I did not like and swapped out to a C-Rex which is smoother and fuller sounding.

All BJ Nos should come with the Jensen speaker. Take it back for an exchange

Hmm, I'm not sure whether the amp in my link in the first post is supposed to be the same amp as what the US guys are calling the NOS version, because it's referred to as the Ltd Edition, there is no reference to NOS in the product profile.

The strange thing is that the speaker is not the C12N, which I though was the speaker fitted to the Tweed model when I started looking. The product profile confuses me even further by referring to the P12R AND the P12N as being fitted to the amp.

Seems like a complete toss-up as to what speaker you get in the overseas lacquered Tweed models.

Cheers,

Snowy.

I am not sure but I think people are confusing:
1. The Blues Junior NOS Tweed amp
2. The Blues Junior Relic

Two different amps. I don't know what comes in the Relic, but I just got my NOS yesterday and it has the Jensen C12N
http://www.jensentone.com/c12n.php

I had the backplate off already to fix a dead on arrival pre amp tube and saw it plain as day.

Ive had 5 blues juniors over the last couple years and anyhow one was a nos version with the C12-N speaker and two of them have been the limited edition versions 1 regular tweed and 1 blonde,. both of them had the eminence speaker in them.I starting to think that the limited edition is just the outside covering and different chicken head knobs and grill cloth. The relic version has the glass ring stain and cat scratched grill cloth and a p12R Jensen speaker.

I guess that's why mine has the Eminence,it's the Blonde Limited Edition Blues Jr.
