Just installed all new JJ's from eurotubes in my Supersonic. I must say, what an incredible difference. I got the High Gain option and the bassman channel really screams when cranked. The burn channel is also a really usable fantastic channel now. I think im going to change out the BJ tubes for JJs now.

Thanks to everyone who recommended Eurotubes.

For me JJ's are the ONLY way to go on modern Fender tube amps.

My Blues Jr will arrive tomorrow. Since I want to have new tubes around as spares anyhow, I am getting ready to order some JJs from Eurotube, but I ran smack dab into CHOICES :?

I am facing:
Fender Blues Jr Standard retube
Fender Blues Jr Gold Pin Option
Fender Blues Jr Low gain Blues Option
Fender Blues Jr High gain option
Fender Blues Jr Max Headroom Option

Mostly blues and classic rock spring forth out of my Strat. Any suggestions here? Also, all options ask if I am looking for max headroom, early or moderate breakup?? I am thinking this applies to how loud you can play the amp with clean tones versus how soon the sound distorts? Is that correct?

Also, can I put the JJs in and use the stock tubs as backups upon their removal?

In my opinion I think you should go for the standard re-tube first so you can tell the huge difference between the JJ's and the stock tubes and just what a re-tube can do for you. Then when you come to know the amp better start thinking on the various options. It's what I would do anyway.

You sure can use your stock tubes as spare but always remember to bias every time you change power tubes.

I also recommend that you change your pre-amp tubes only first so again you can hear what they do and then fit your power tubes.

Best of luck with your amp and JJ's. JJ's all the way!
