Hello everyone,

I am the proud owner of a blues deluxe reissue 40 watt tube amp.

My clean channel is no longer clean and sounds more like a crunch. I suspect I need to change the tubes.

My question is do I need to bias the amp if I change the tubes?

Is there any danger of damaging the amp if I do not bias the amp if biasing is needed?

thank you kindly

Patrick

Yes you do need to bias the amp, with a simple multi-meter. You can see the videos on how at Eurotubes.com. Its easy. Also here you can get yourself a set of JJ tubes for your amp. In my opinion (and many others) they are the best tubes for this amp. They really make a difference compared to the brittle sounding GT's.

These amps also come from the factory biased 'cold' which contributes to the harshness. I have my DeVille set to 82mv.
