I currently am playing through a Blues Deluxe Reissue and am pondering getting another and running them in stereo. I know that both will have effects loops but what would be the best way to run in stereo so that both get the full stereo chorus and delay effect desired? I have a Whirlwind Selector switch that would allow me to go from guitar signal, out to both amps. However, where would the effect pedals go? Before the amps, or perhaps out of one amp's effects loop, into the pedals, back out to the return of the other amp? I sure appreciate some pro advice on this because the tone I'm getting now with some nice pedals is fantastic and I can imagine what 2 would sound like in stereo. Also, side note, would a Hot Plate be a good choice for attenuating volume? This thing can't get past 2 without tearing paint off walls. Thanks for the help regarding stereo operation.

Hotplates are good, a little pricey, Weber makes some good attenuator for cheap as well.

+1 on the Weber attenuators. Love my mini mass...

An effect has to have stereo outs to take full advantage of running it in stereo. You can run all of your effects before your ABY pedal, and then into each amp, but it's not going to have the same effect as running the stereo outputs from a pedal into each amp.

To run the pedals through the effects loop of each amp, I think you would have to have stereo "ins" and "outs" for each pedal, so that the loop from one amp could run through the "left" channel of a pedal and the loop from the other amp could run through the "right" channel of the pedal.

For stereo delay/chorus effects you'll need a true stereo pedal (with discreet right and left outputs) and it needs to be the last stompbox in your signal chain. Skip the effects loops on both amps and route the signal(s) from your delay/chorus pedal and any other effects directly into the input of each amp. For safety, both amps and your pedal board (if AC-powered) should be plugged into the same grounded power strip.

Thanks you guys. I do have true stereo chorus and delay pedals although I have 2 delay pedals I'm using and not sure how the last one will work. Currently it's the new Vox Time Machine delay pedal. It has 2 outs, one labelled "dry". Would that be true stereo or should the Hardwire looper/delay pedal be last with 2 true stereo outs. And......no need for the effects loops? If so, great. I'm hoping the pedals will work well in front. I don't see why not. I'm also giving some thought to running the Vintage Blues combo with a Vox AC-15 for some true diversity in tones. Cleans is what I'm after and I can alter the clean tone with pedals for dirty. But I'm thinking the Vox with EL84 power tubes would be a nice compliment to the Fender's 6L6's. Thanks for the info folks. I appreciate it. Can't wait to try it out. :D
