Is '59 Bassman® LTD Reissue OK for bass? I play a Geddy Lee Jazz and a 4001C64S.

660, At a reasonable level, I can't see why not. You certainly should not have any problem with too much of the fundamental coming through that amp. The speakers may not suit your needs, I'm sure they're voiced for guitar. The amplifier section should be fine. Welcome to the forum and I would check with the folks over on the Bass Amp forum. Art

Yes it's OK for playing around the house or a very small coffee house type of thing, but not at gig volumes. I think the transformers and speakers might be the weak link.

In the book "Soul of Tone" about Fender amps there are two CD's of sound samples of various Fender amps and they do a quick demo of a bass through a Bassman LTD. It sounds pretty cool actually - very vintage and warm.

Depends what kind of a bass sound you're looking for - back in '59 when it came out, bass players weren't looking to get a 40hz low E - it was fine to get the higher frequency harmonics out - if you go back and listen to older songs, the bass has a lot more mid frequencies than the low we hear today.

In a pinch, it should work. I've run my Jazz bass through my Bandmaster 2x12 and it sounds pretty good, although obviously not as low and/or as punchy as through a 1x15 bass amp.

Certainly can't hurt to try.
