Saw this in a Guitar Center today on one of those short term, one time only sales. Been looking for a Fender tube for a bit, and it was this or the blues deluxe, so I got it. Love it so far, but have a question: Is there anyway to mod it so I can have the footswitch control the reverb instead of the drive that I will just use a big muff and maxon od808 for?

Sure. Tie into the return lead from the tank, wire it to an additional jack you install somewhere on the back panel and obtain a cheap latching foot switch. Of course you would need a special jack that defaults to closed circuit in the absence of a cable plugged into the jack so the reverb will still function without the switch.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

If it's under warranty, modding the amp will void it. You really don't want to void a warranty on a HRD amp but it's your dime. It is a good mod though.

Because it will break or just because I want the warranty in general?

Both. The HRD series aren't the best designed amps in the Fender lineup and have more than their fair share of problems. Why throw away a 5 year warranty for a footswitch. The reverb on my HRDlx sounded pretty bad compared to other Fender amps I've owned. You'd be better off getting an outboard reverb unit or a even the new Boss FRV-1 pedal.
