Just got a 112 supersonic. Noticed a buzz. played it w/a beat up tele squier affinity. Waiting on my new highway one. is the buzz an amp thing or a guitar thing? I know it has something to do w/ground... I think :?

Is your FX loop engaged without anything plugged through it?

could be a tube, sounds more like a cheap cable or a ground. Is there anything that you do to change the buzz? is it there when you turn your volume all the way down? if your volume is on and the guitar is unplugged from it is it still there?

okay, fx loop was not engaged when i heard it. Both send/return knobs are all the way off. I turned the amp on without anything plugged in, turned the volume all the way down, and heard just your normal speaker fuzz as if a pa system was left on. I looked at both of the glass tubes in the back (excuse my tech talk :D ) and both were lit when it was on. I hope it's a guitar thing, cuz it would suck if it were the tubes. When the guitar is plugged in, when I switched the pup combinations on the squier, the buzz changed in overall volume, but was still there. I'm getting a new tele in two days, so I'll see if that helps...hopefully this won't be an amp I have to take back cuz I effn love it!

sounds like a guitar thing. since it changes when your pickups change.

If you have single coils (standard tele, skinny looking) they are susceptible to hum naturally. The cheaper Squier pickups may be more prone to hum; if you have a cheap guitar cable that may also be causing the hum or at least contributing to it.

Try moving around in the room away from the amp and the hum may decrease.

A new Tele with better pickups should help. Get a decent cord as well.

I have played a few Supersonics in the stores around my area, and I have found it to be a very noisy amp. I struck it from my considerations due to the hiss on many of the high gain settings. I played it with several different guitars and at several different shops, all with the same findings. The Supersonic just seems to be a hissy fit of an amp.

Your right, with the stock Groove Tubes mine hissed too, however i changed them out with a Eurotubes replacement set and BAM no more hiss.
