Just curious, at what volume level does the average DRRI usually start to break up? Thanks, dutch.

Dutchy, mine seems to start breaking up between 3.5 and 4 on the volume knob with stock tubes. Its pretty loud at that point. If you want it to breakup sooner, you can use different tubes ,but I just use a pedal for mine.

It depends on the pickups too. Humbuckers will break up before single coil and P-90's somewhere in between the two. It's a really sweet breakup too.

Hi supro, would you mind a question (and sorry to hijack)? Why do these different pups break up like this? Are Humbuckers sending a louder or softer electronic signal than the single coils? Does that have anything to do with it? Finally, why do Humbuckers seem to get more sustain than single coils? Thanks for the education! Bob

Thanks guys, my DRRI starts to break up at around 4 with my Tele. Since its a new piece of gear, I want to make sure its operation is normal. Last gig I switched between the DRRI and my Pro-reverb, we tend to play loud at certain venues. I like to play clean on half the songs, the pro has more head room for that. The DRRI is great for the smaller venues, glad I notice (Supro's) plugs for this amp, I love its tone. :D

Yep, if it wasnt for Supros recommendations ,I probably would have overlooked this one too.Hes right about the pickups, my MIA Standard lets it breakup at 4 and my texas specials more like 3.5.
