Hello everybody,

I have a fender 57 champ reissue (I bought it in January 2010) and there is the following problem. When I use the amp at full volume with a treble booster (fryer touring) I hear a strange noise. I checked everything on the amp, even tried with a different speaker and still the same. When I use the treble booster with the vox AC15HTVH the sound is perfect. Maybe the tubes, I have no idea.

here you can find an mp3 with the sound: http://www.redspecial.freeforums.org/vi ... f=4&t=2306

Thank you guys.

I'd check the tubes and the speaker. Why in the world would you run the amp flat out with a treble anyway? I'm sure the amps still under warranty.

This amp really shines with a treble booster, I'll look for some samples.

Don't sound like it's shining now. Tweeds generally loose their sweet spot when pushed full tilt. You also greatly shorted the life of the tubes too. It's herd to tell from your audio sample but you may have damaged the speaker. Tweed Champs were very simple practice amps and way back, there weren't many effects around. I'd be looking for more bottom end with a Champ, not more top end.
