I just snagged a PR370 Acoustasonic from a pawn shop in like new condition for 200 bucks. I intended to use it as a PA and for when I break down and finally buy a Dick Dale Signature Acoustic.

However, what else can I do with it? Can I play a strat through it? How is it different (component and tolerance wise)? Could I hurt it playing through it?

It's basically a portable P/A system. Emphasis on fidelity and subtle FX. The intent is to amplify an acoustic guitar without coloring the sound of the guitar the way that an electric guitar amp would. I have a Genz Benz Shenandoah Pro LT which I absolutely love but it's no good for playing a Strat or a Tele. I mean, you could do it but it would sound fugly.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I have an Acoustasonic 30 for my acoustic. Electric guitars sound not very nice through it, the bass, mids and treble are all over the place. It can be done if thats your thing but to me it just doesn't sound right and as Beamer said, they weren't designed for that and it sounds fugly.

Acoustic amps have a woofer and a tweeter, like a PA speaker. Like BMW-KTM said, it's basically a portable PA system. Electric guitar amps just have a woofer, usually a 12" speaker(s).
