I just bought a used Blues Jr. It's in amazing condition and sounds great. I am interested in determining the approx age of the amp. However, the QA sticker does not have either a stamped or hand-printed date code. All it has are the initials of the two people who conducted the Electronic Test and Sound Test. This amp had to have been manufactured after 1990, so I'm surprised there's no date code. Any ideas of how I might determine the age?

Thanks!

You could narrow it down using this link but you may have to open it up and look at the guts.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

great site - saw this from a quick perusal:

Fender discontinued date codes in 2003. There is no reliable way to date 2003-2005 amps other than to ask Fender customer support to look up the date from the serial number, although you may find a date code on the speaker. 2006 amps have a small metal “Fender 60th Anniversary” button on the back plate. 2007 amps have no distinguishing features.

Tolex or tweed?

the pcb has a date stamp in the corner. that might be a reasonable estimate
