I have a DRRI and I have noticed reduced volume and a kind of staticky hissy sound (technical lingo). While playing the volume starts to fade on its own. I have replaced all tubes except the 5ar4, I was told they work or they don't so I didn't replace it. All new tubes that were replaced were bought from Dougs Tubes so I'm pretty sure all the tubes were good when I got them. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You replaced the power tubes ???
Did you have it biased ?

a real crap shoot to plug in new power tubes without a bias check.

if you did then its possible that a new tube is bad or a bad solder joint somewhere, bad tube socket ect.....

Did you have the hiss and stuff (technical term) before the tube change ?

Yeah AZ, just wondering about Blues' question about hiss before the tube change. If not, I'd suspect a problem with a new tube or a dirty tube socket. I've always been of the school of thought, that the rectifier tube either works or doesn't work. But it was mentioned by Supro, that he had experienced noisy rectifier tubes. So that is a possibility. Art
