That is certainly a fine very neat job,you are to be commended,I don't understand why they didn't put a standby switch in the Blues Jr. anyway. How big is the difference in tone?I imagine it would be significant after all these mods as well as probably a noticeable increase in peak volume. Also how does it sound now with the master turned down and the volume maxxed, does it make a big difference with the overdrive?Sorry about all the questions but I just bought a Blues Jr. and I'm getting acquainted with it and it's a great little amp as is and I imagine that the mods make it a little tone monster.

That is WAY COOl dude!

It always amazes me when people start modding stuff. I always think "why not just buy a different amp if you're not happy with the one you have?" but if you take it to your level it's just a really cool thing to do isn't it!

Cheers.

This morning I ran my Blues Jr. through my Marshall 1960 4-12 cab loaded with G25 L Celestions and was absolutely amazed by the difference in sound.I wrote my overall comments in the lounge section.Ican just imagine how one would sound with the above mods.

wow.. amazing amazing work.. If you wouldn't mind me asking how were you able to increase the voltage to power that blue led indicator? I'm trying to do the same to mine right now but the output is only at 1.5v so its not enough to light up the blue led.. thanks!

I guess it is a legitimate question.."why mod, just buy another amp" . However, most of us do the mod thing for:
Challenge
Hobby
Making a unique amp unlike any other
Like the sound of the stock amp, but want to make it even better.
Like the amp, and just want additional features (ie. standby switch, presence control).

I guess some people always look to improve, tinker etc., some just want plug and play out of the box. There is no right philosophy, just different ones.

I just did these same mods to my Blues Junior. I turned it into a head also. I made my own cabinet instead. I did all that, rather than buy new amp because I like to tinker and it was a challenge. Plus it looks cool as a head unit. 8)

Where did you find the perforated metal? I was looking for that exact pattern and couldn't find it. What did you cut it with? What did you shape it with?

Did you keep the Reverb tank? I made my cabinet large enough to house the Reverb Tank below the chassis. So the chassis sits about 4 inches above the base of the cabinet. Far enough away from the Transformers to avoid interference.

How did you wire in the Blue LED bar to the chassis? I considered doing something along those lines but didn't know how to wire it in.

Thanks
