It should be pretty trouble free. I always suggest letting the tubes cool before moving it, but other than replacing power tubes every year or so there isn't much to do.

Do you ever get a high pitched ringing tone when you play? I just bought a brand new SCXD and it sounds like bad tubes to me.

As it's a tube amp, just be a little careful moving it about, try not to jar it too heavily, else the tubes may get knocked out of alignment. That's not to say you should treat it like it's a fragile egg, just be conscious of how you move it.
Don't be throwing it about like a gorilla with a suitcase.

I get no such ringing tone. You should get it checked out by a pro, or you can take it back to where you got it and get it either fixed or exchanged. If it was like that when you first tried it, they would be obligated to take care of it. Just don't leave it too long.

No ringing in mine, though I do recall this being a topic (and tubes the answer) a year or so ago when a lot of people were first getting them.

As for care, the only other thing I do is throw and old towel over it when not in use. Dirt may add character but it can also cause problems with the pots and electronics down the road.

Sounds like a microphonic preamp tube. Well built tube amps are pretty much trouble free except for the usual tube replacement. Lower end tube amps are more fragile and require a little more gentle handling. The SCXD pretty much just is a practice a mp and isn't meant to be bounced around a lot.

I think I figured it out (tubes ringing). I unseated the preamp tube (12AX7) and reseated it snugly. I haven't heard much ringing since then. Someone advised me that sometimes tubes rattle when they're not seated right. So far seems to have worked. Keeping my fingers crossed.
