I have a SCXD, that sounds great on the clean voices and on the channel 1 voice.
BUT !!! All the distorted ones sounds muddy and there is no "omph" or bottom end when doing mutes.....it also sounds kind of "dissonant and disharmonic" especially when using neck pickups...

I have tried 3 strats ans a LP on it.

1960 LP Deluxe
1990 Squier E serial MIK
07 Indo Fat strat
08 Vint mod sss strat....

Same problem with all Guitars.

Sometimes it sounds better sometimes not....
I know it doesnt sound anything like what Don Anderson makes it sound like on Youtube.
(i know i dont have a Vintage Strat, and that Don probably have more tone in his fingers than mine.)
This does not hapen in my Line6 spider, my cousins Twin, or his Vintage Super Champ....nor on my friends Super 60.....with my guitars.....

I find this weired. The SCXD was bought new in Dec 09.....

Jon

You may want to check into looking at different speaker and tube options. I swapped out the tubes and use a 1x12 speaker cab and it made a big difference. However I'm still not totally happy with this amp's distortion. But I can live with it for a $300 amp.

I also use TS-9 tubescreamer. That pedal makes a big difference for me.

There is something wrong with your amp. If you bought it new, take it to the dealer.
Mine does not sound like that.

Not trying to dis anyone, but couldn't it just be a matter of the OP's perception, not anything actually wrong with the amp?

just bought a SCXD and it's got a high pitched ringing tone that sounds like bad tubes to me. I hate to take it back just because of some bad tubes but they shouldn't sound like that straight from the factory. Obviously some QC issues with the SCXD's right now. Too bad because it's a great little amp and tone machine. But if you can't hear the tones clearly because of a high pitched tone then what good does it do you? I've tried to contact Fender Support without much success lately. They do have phones over there don't they?
