I'm an older professional guitarist that loves my twin reverb sound, (have owned at least 5 from silver face to red knob to dual professional). My problem is now that I am getting older, twin reverb type amps are just getting too heavy for me. I don't dig the lighter weight cyber-twin (gotta have my tubes), and I don't get enough clean headroom from my deluxe reverb amp on most gigs.
Does Fender have any plans to sell a piggy-back version of the twin reverb for us veteran players? I think there would be demand for it.

Hi there Bud, and welcome to the forum. Hear what you're saying, but I have my doubts about that happening with Fender. I think the Dual Professional was the "tip of the hat"to the Twin Reverb devotees. Custom built cabs would probably be the way to go. I'd put the reverb tank in the speaker cab in order to keep the short head look, never liked the tall TLF5000D head, but it was probably a lot better for some air circulation. I had a 2X10 combo cab built for a Bassman chassis, thinking that it would be a good grab n go amp. But at 60 yrs old, I'm thinkin' about letting that go and building a smaller amp. Oh well, did my time haulin' that old Twin in and out of gigs. Finally settled on Matchless Clubman 35 head and 2X12 cab for the blues band and that sure was a better situation. BTW how did you like the Dual Professional? Art

Uhhh, maybe I should've warned you about our local Fender gigolo. He means well, but his Twin Reverb probably has sprouted roots into his floor since his wayward behavior.
Just kiddin' around, Supro is one of the most helpful folks around here. Art

Someone asked about the Dual Professional I owned. I would say it was the best sounding new twin that I have ever purchased. Lots of clean warm headroom, a great buttery reverb and I liked the sound of the Vintage 30 Celestion speakers. I bought mine a few months after they came out. I got rid of it in order to go with an amp with channel switching and overdrive. Since then I have gone back to pedals for overdrive and do miss the sound of that amp. My favorite sounding Twin that I owned was a silver-face without master volume. It had a certain brightness and warmth that I just don't hear in a new amp. I got rid of that one because of reliability issues. My red knob Twin was probably my least favorite sounding Twin. Just not the character I was looking for. Currently I use a Custom 15 which has a pleasant sound, but now I am challenged by its size.

Ha Ha. Yeah, my ears thank me too. It's a heavy beautiful sounding beast. I've thought about turning it into a head with an attenuator. They aren't worth much on the used market anyway or maybe look for an old Showman!!! That's the ticket!
