I just got back from GC today and I couldn't help but notice that the SCXD is now $189.99. Last week it was $199.99. I bought this amp for $239.99 a year ago. At the time, the salesman said that Fender retains its value very well. Now I'm beginning to wonder.

Today, the salesman told me that Fender keeps bouncing around its prices.

I know I really shouldn't worry about it since I do like the amp. However I do find it strange. So I guess if someone was in the market for a SCXD, nows the time to buy.

I also just tried out the Blackstar HT-5 and all I can say is "Wow". For the price, this thing sounds great. Sounds like a Marsall and a Mesa in one amp.

That's weird...the GC web price is still $299. I'll have to check out the in store price around here. Maybe a leftover special from their President's Day sale?

I'm sure its the scxd because I wanted to know what the trade-in amount would be for mine. He was embarrassed to tell me. So I think I'll hang on to it for a while.

You don't want to trade it in, you'll get robbed. Craig List it instead.

+1

I sold my SCXD with a Ragin Cajun speaker and footswitch for $235 on CL a few months ago. You could probably get 180-200 for a stock SCXD.

I really do think the scxd is a nice amp. But I really don't need all the voicings and effects. I play it through a 1x12 cab and only use voicings 8 and 9. along with the clean channel.

For this I could probably use a small head. Maybe I'll try using Craig's list. I also have the foot switch and I'm sure that will help it sell.
