I know that kids grow up using computers nowadays, which is great, but parents really need to step up and monitor their children's internet use.

Kids aren't aware of internet safety. If left to run wild on the internet, they do all sorts of unsafe things, such as giving out their email address and other personal information. And it's sad, really, because the kids are the ones that lose out in the end.

Ooops. I would like to apologize for my comments last night on this site . I had a really bad day yesterday. I seem to have found myself unemployed this week and I had some other things going on so I was beating the pavement yesterday to find a way to suppliment my income(playing music). In doing so some players I know where buying me drinks and telling how great my sound was. and we were laughing about my relationship with a meber on this site. It seem like every time I throw my two cents in (which isn't very often) I get a snide comments from the same member. I am already aware that I do alotta things different than most players. I play on fender amps exclusivly and love them. thats why I'm here...
My wife wasn't happy that I had been drinking and that I had scored a midweek gig when I got home, so instead of doing any thing with my family I went to my computer and started drink some more.
I never follow convention thinking because I have played my entire life and developed some interesting insight into how to work a room with an amp for the best sound. I also read a lot of rock bios and technical stuff on sound and gear. I don't have a large rapporte online and I'm sorry I don't have a sample of my playing on the web. I considered of doing a thirty minute guitar solo on youtube to showcase my blues JR but I realized it was more for my ego than to showcase the BJ.
Sorry, I will remember that is a website and if you spend a lot of time here it is probably more your domain than mine. you all have your own rapporte with each other, and thats great. I wish I had more time to listen and read about guitar amps. I was born with the gift of music but my amp is the wings on which I fly. I love amps. I can find good things in almost anyhting I play on.
Please accept my apology. I was mad at my wife and my boss, 100% of the time I won't confront my wife till we have cooled off. Now thats good advice. Sorry my need to scream at someone manifested here. Thanks.l

No problems here for me. It takes a gracious man sometimes to realise he's lost the plot and apologise for it. So fair play to you.

Good luck on the job front. Our recent National prosperities seem to have snuck up on us and really given our asses a wicked bite. It seems that we became so trusting of capitalism that we let the bankers have their heads. Unchecked - and in their personal greed and arrogance - they've half killed us. A final, painful end to the era of Thatcher/Reaganomics that created the illusion of wealth for longer than they could have dared hope.

In fact, good luck to all going through the traumas of financial re-alignment and the hangover of recession. Perhaps when it's done, we can build something fairer and more substanitial.

I don't think I've heard a better name for the current economic situation yet. That's perfect.

I know where your at on the job front mate, best of luck with it. It's not easy and often gets to me too.

As for marshall's. Well I just plug into mine and use my volume and tone controls. Their built like tanks gigged on a weekly basis and the only problem I've had in twelve years of gigging one of them is the volume pot crackling. Thats on a 84 amp. Perhaps your rhythm guitarist needs to get away from multichanneled or MG amps.

Funnily enough I found the exact opposite on the Blues Junior. I needed pedals to get anything like a decent sound out of it. It's geared up for that mid weak SRV half clean/ half dirty tone and thats about it. Great if you like that sound, I cant abide it though. Theres no chance of getting a decent drive level out of it, or a pristine Ventures type sound. I managed to sell mine a couple of weeks back.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Anyone can act like an a-hole, but it takes a real man to apologize for it. Best of luck to you Stratbastardos!

Good luck with the job thing. Loseing a job sucks. A huge ego can get in the way also. Always remember theirs always someone out there better and theres something to learn from everyone. Real guitar players stick together because we love what we do no matter how good we do it. Get yourself a 59 Bassman and really make music. Just kidding kinda.

Good on ya for the apology. Good luck with the job situation. I've been there myself in the past and I know exactl how it can mess you up. Hope it all works out in a positive way for you.

Re: your original topic. Yeah I play pretty much straight up into the amp. Only use an OD pedal when I want dirt and don't want to crank it too loud. Always think to myself I should get some more pedals but then realise I'm happy with my sound. There's nothing quite like just plugging straight in and going for it!

Peace man.

OK man, "water under the bridge." Tolerance is a characteristic of most folks here. As far as the OP, sometimes I'll put a stand alone reverb in front of my old Fenders, otherwise it's just the Strat and my fingers( I don't use a pick). Art

Yer a bit late, JPD, he's already profusely apologized and everybody else has moved on. Maybe you should, too.
