Is there any one out there who can get up on a straight up amp and a guitar and play out hard without any extra flash?!! I feel like the only person in the world that can mix with a band with a guitar and (just an) amp?
I like OD and stereo chourus and delay like the rest of 'um, but I don't need it. my rhythm section usually holds all that sh*t down anyway. But I do have some really good players doing that crap for me. (Thing that make ya go hmm) I just try and play a nice solo. Is there anybody that can use a volume knob, a hot pickup and an amp out there?
Maybe I attract good players because I'm not over bearing and hard to play with? i can't under stand this HUGE search for Tone?! I always seem to find it in any rig I play on. And alotta time's I find myself turning down the OD and effects.
All this other stuff seem like its robbing me of tone most of the time. Simple to me seems to be the best!?
Am I the only one!!
Is a boutique amp the only answer? do I NEED a Marshall? VHT? maybe an EGBEATER!! I think I'm really happy with my old Fenders,! but I'm not sure I've only been playing 30 f'in' years.!.!.!
I'll be playing three nights this week this week! But that only for money. not cause I want too!

Hey man, What are trying to say? I've been playing in bands since 1964. Straight into the amp. Found the Matchless Clubman 35 to be the best for me in the "Salty Dawg" blues band for years. But it just so happened to sound more Fender than the current production Fenders at that time. I will take your comment about this forum as an insult. It's not meant to be an in depth technical site, but rather a gathering place for folks with any number of things in common, regardless of their expertise in amplifiers and musical history. If you have a problem with any of the folks here, please have a little respect. You know what I mean? You are speaking to all of us here, not just one person! Art

Izzy Stradlin was and still is straight into the amp. On Appetite for Destruction it's just a Fender Bassman head through a Mesa cab and using a Gibson ES-137. Slash is much the same besides a wah and he had Les Pauls and a Marshall.

These are just my favourites as an example. Plenty of guitarists go straight in without anything. It doesn't make you special. As a pro I know many who do it that way as to all the guys who post here.

Whats your problem though dude? We dont behave like that here. We dont argue, we respectfully debate and we sure as hell dont multiple post trying to pick a fight.

CC

This guy has 44 posts under his belt. You would hope he knows the score by now.

I am left thoroughly confused by what sounds like one half of an argument..

I think he's looking for me.
My opinion is worth what you paid for it. It's just an opinion. I don't care for your amp, you don't care for mine. I don't care. I never said anything about you personally or how you play. Your Blues Jr sounds good to you, that's great. I don't have to like them because you do. The Blues Jr just doesn't fit what I do.

I'd seriously watch the language and the childish attitude.

To answer your question, I usually play my Eggbeater by itself LOL.
