Am i right in thinking for a Fender 65 Twin RI that the THD 8ohm attenuator is the correct ohm rating for it? I keep forgetting how it works.

Also is there any cheaper attenuators? THD stuff seems really expensive.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record...
I recommend the Weber Attenuators i use the 50 watt Mini Mass, for my Hot Rod Deluxe. It has 4, 8, and 16 ohm (selectable)

So i presume i'll have to get the 100 watt one with the twin being 85watts

Yep. Just be aware if you crank the amp all the time you'll wear out your tubes faster.

I know that. Im having second thoughts about it, i did a small gig the other day and had it set on about 4 and it was alright.

Just the other day i went to record and couldnt set it above 3 without peaking the entire system.

Sounds like you need a smaller recording amp. That's what I use my SF Champ for. I use an old original 73 Pignose too. It works well as a recording amp too.

I love my pignose. I bought it last year and will never get rid of it.

I recorded this with the mic on my computer:

They're fun little amps.

To the OP, I'm planning on getting a Weber Mini Mass for my DRRI once I have some extra cash.
