I just got this amp in December- It's one of the models with the factory Celestion

Last week it started, and the signal level of the radio is independent of what I have plugged into the amp (just guitar, tuner, pedal, etc)

It's been a long time since this has happened to me, and I seem to remember it more with mis-wired mic cords ... and Gibson Maesto fuzztone

In amps I seem to remember it being usually a pre-amp tube??

I have somewhere between 75 and 100 hours on it (as best I can estimate)

Some cheaper guitar cords can be radiophonic. They act like antennas. Old effect boxes can do it too, and it's even worse with budget cords. The old fuzztone for sure. I pretty much doubt it's the amp itself. Next time it does it, unplug everything from the amps input If it still does it, it's the amp, but I'll bet you a hat it's something in your signal chain.

Wow! Two for one, a radio and a amp!! Sorry, don't mean to trivialize your problem. I had that happen on one of my amps years ago. It would come and go on one of my Silvertone amps if I remember.
Maybe 63 supro (one of our amp gurus ) can sort it out for you. Good luck my friend!! :)

Beat me to it supro!!

already thought of that.... In fact the fist thing I did was start unplugging things

Monster cords , Boss tuner, Rocktron delay, EB volume pedal, Mesa TwinV preamp, PRS guitar....

I can unplug everything and it's still there... only way to make it go away is turn the volume all the way down

Everything is unplugged and you still here it? Did you try moving the amp to another location?

I'd take it to a tech. The HRD series amps have so many quirks. Could be some sort of shielding problem. I agree, try moving the amp. Maybe a line conditioner would help. You could try calling Fender customer service too.

I had a '70s Twin Reverb do this to me too, except it was a FM radio station and thankfully a rock station. It did it when I had my Dunlop JH wah-wah turned on. I could even dial in the station better by sweeping the wah pedal. Got a new wah, solved the problem.

As long as it's not broadcasting Rush Limbaugh, What's the problem?

+1 I'd have to pull a Pete Townshend and put my foot through my amp if it did that.

I haven't had the radio issue, but the tubes in my Blues Jr tend to vibrate loose and cut out all sound. Any suggestions?

The reverb tray on my BJ packed up after 3 months. But other than that my BJ hasn't given me a minute's trouble in 4 years and is still on it's original valves (touch wood and all that..)
