I scoured the internet (and this form) but couldn't find anyone with a comparable problem. I'm sure it's out there though.

So a year ago, I took my amp to a friend's house where they had a really old electrical system :(. I had to use a 3 prong adapter to plug it in, and I noticed my amp was SUPER noisy even at the lowest volume settings I could get.

When I took my amp home, I noticed that when turning the volume up from 0, the volume jumps to full at about 1 1/3. If I keep turning, it goes back down a little after 2. It's really loud (and obnoxious :x). Thankfully, it went away after a few days. It was only a problem on Channel 2.

Fast forward one year. Yesterday, a different friend just turned my amp on to start playing, and it started behaving the same way, but both on Channel 1 and Channel 2. It sounds like somewhere between 1 and 2 on the volume knobs, they're being bypassed and jumping up to full volume.

Do you think it will go away again, and if not how can I get this fixed?

Thanks so much for your help. I love this amp and really want to be able to play it without waking up my roommate/neighbors/etc.

Is your warranty still valid? Sounds like you might need to have you amp checked out.

Hmm... I'm not sure. I didn't fill out any paperwork upon purchasing my amp. How would I know if this was still under warranty?

SCXD's have only been available for what? 2-years? It should still be under warranty.
