VK's retial for about $3500. Yeah, but that is still a LOT of money. I've seen the inside of a VK once before and I seem to recall the lack of a PCB, so that would mean it's handwired on an eyelet board or at least some of it is handwired and that's where the high cost justification comes into play I bet.

I saw a used VK is my local shop 4 years ago priced at around $1200. It sounded really good. It's reverb is supposed to be the best of any modern Fender combo. I'm still kicking myself for not getting it at that price. No way would a pay what used ones are going for now.

works for Pete - he replaced his Hiwatt stacks back in 2000 for VibroKings with extension speakers.

From what I know, it's the best 59 bassman with the speaker response of a '57 bandmaster (3 10" speakers, and Pete's all-time favorite recording amp) and a full tube reverb with all dwell, mix and tone controls. A great amp.

If you haven't seen it - http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/equipment.htm a must for any Who fan.

I took one home for a weekend about 6 or 7 years ago. The shop dealer was a friend. I played the hell out of that amp. IMO the VibroKing is the culmination of 60+ years of Fender amp development. It is the pinnacle of Fender tone. There are simply no other Fender amps from any era that sound better or even as good.

If I could justify the coin there would be a blonde one in my amp stable.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
