You could measure and maybe find a way to conceal it, but not sure why you'd want to...it might not be cost effective either?

Is this regarding the 2x12 Blues Deluxe that you're building??? http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=34024 It won't fit. Besides, it's a bad idea to try and shove anything near the size of a rackmount effects processor into the cab of an open back tube combo. There is a good chance you'll damage the tubes and/or something will find it's way to a speaker and poke a hole in the cone.

They call rackmount effects processors for a reason. Maybe get a single or dual space rack and set it on the floor behind the amp if you want it hidden.

You'll block all your ventilation too to the amp and processor. Why conceal the processor anyway, It just makes it harder to adjust.

There might be more to it than spacing and ventilation issues..

Your average rackmounted processor is stuffed full of ICs, chips, whatever you want to call them. These are extremely sensitive to magnetic fields and can be destroyed by them. Display screens too are sensitive to magnetic fields.

Placing such devices in close proximity to the extremely powerful speaker magnet(s) you will have in a combo amplifier could be a recipe for disaster.

Or am I worrying unduly here?

Groove Tubes way back in the day made tube amp combos that had the amp rack-mounted and left space for a 1RU effects processor; I seem to remember Dean Markley did the same.

I'd forget building it in and just get a SKB case for it. Or, get a shock mount rack that's taller, add drawers in it for storage, and put your amp on top for live use to get it up to your ears vs. ankles.
