Hey people, I was just wondering, what do you all consider to be some of the best low wattage ( think 5-15) tube amps out there? I'm looking for a portable tube amp that capable of playing over drums in a band. However, already having a twin reverb, I'm looking for something more in terms of a vintage Marshall sound, like an old plexi, etc. Any suggestions? Think towards the price range of 300$-600$

Thanks in advance :P

I have a Fender Band Master VM. Works really good. I also use a Marshall Artist 3203 head, but they're not made any more

I see a lot of people raving about the peavy classic 30, so that might be worth a try. The Blues Jr, & various Vox amps are also something to consider.

Egnater. Either the Rebel 20 or 30 Combo. It uses both EL84 and 6V6 power tubes and you can blend them to any degree or just use the 6V6 or EL84. Unless you have a light playing drummer, you won't get over him or her with a 5 watt amp unless you mic it.

How about a used THD Univalve. That would get you in the Marshall zone and you could use any speaker array that the venue calls for. The ability to use most any octal power tube, would give you super vesatility. Art
