Although I haven't tried any pedals with it, I just recently got a Blues Junior. It's a sweet tube amp that suits my needs very well and didn't take a big bite out of my wallet!

I agree with "taviking22." The Fender Blues Jr. is a great choice for a quality, inexpensive tube amplifier. It will definitely work well with any pedal (preferably analog). At 15 watts it will compress or break up a little early if it is cranked or pushed by a pedal (clean boost or an overdrive). So, if you jamming with a band (with drummer), a 'dead' clean sound (for jazz, or country) probably will not be an option. Though for most situations the natural compression of the output section (power amp.) will be a desired and beautiful sound you can't from higher powered amplifiers.

Check out this quote from "Monster Mike Welch Band" (one of Boston’s best loved blues guitarists)...Under gear

That is matter of taste because there is quite a few Fender Combos under that price point. It is just an example that a pro 'really' digs the Fender Blues Jr.

One thing is certain, the Fender Blues Jr. is a good choice for your situation. 8)
