Ok, here we go, I have a 94' Blues Deluxe that switches channels on its own. It will switch from normal to drive and back again. I think its a loose connection cause it happens more when the amps cranked up. I just dont know where to look. any help? I think its somewhere in the footswitch plug in area.. . it would only make sense. But has anyone heard of this happening? Switching from clean to drive and back and forth, sometimes it gets stuck on drive and if i smack it, and it switches back to clean. Is this something i can fix or should i just play it safe and take it in? :?

If memory serves me correctly , this was a problem with the older Hotrod/blues deluxe and devilles.Iam not certain, but I think the problem is in a relay in the board.Does ithe problem go away if you disconnect the footswitch?

I dont even use a footswitch, its happening internaly. Ill be playing on the clean channel and then out of nowhere it just switches to the other channel, little drive light by the chicken head knob comes on and everthing, then if i strum again or smack the top of it, it switches back to the clean channel.

Then its probably that pesky relay on the board. There used to be a hotrod deluxe website that explained this problem well.I would take it in for service.

Yep, probably the relay, one of the many components that were replaced on my HRDlx. I'd check the 5 watt resistors too.
