I just bought the frontman 212r. sounds great and very loud, but i wanted to know what settings would give me the cleanest tone. i want to use a pod x3 pedal for tone but not have it be affected by the setting on the amp.

any help?

just use the clean channel....haha, sarcasm.

there may not be an easy solution to your question. i mean, the clean channel is very decent and transparent. i wouldnt see it causing a negative impact on your POD tone.

anyway, you could either set up the POD in front of the amp, or in the FX loop. either way has a downside. if you go in front, the amp will obviously put its influence on the signal before it gets to the speakers. going thru the FX loop is probably the better option, because the POD will "have the final say" before the signal hits speakers. the signal will have already gone thru the amp's tone stack, so the POD will be able to have the final impact. however, that's not to say that 100% of the sound you hear is pure unaltered POD tone. what goes in, must come out. the amp will still have some kind of impact. easiest example...turn the EQ knobs, the sound still changes. and not to be technical, but your speakers also have an impact on the tone.
all in all, your best bet is to use the clean channel and run the pod thru the fx loop. you wont have pure unaltered sound in terms of what the amp contributes, but it will be at a minimum. like i said, the cleans are very nice, and shouldnt negatively color the tone much

sounds like you'd be better off just plugging the pod into a PA directly. thats the impression i get.
