This happened a few days ago. When I turn on my DRRI, it makes a hum and sounds like rice crispies(snap, crackle, pop). It does this even with nothing plugged in and the volume(s) all the way down. Now, the wierd part: I can hear my guitar a little bit even with the volume turned all the way down. When I turn it up to about 1.5, the volume drops off almost entirely and sounds really muffled(the volume control begins at 1 on the dial, not zero). Then, as I gradually increase the volume control to about 2 on the dial, the amp comes back to life, the muffled sound goes away. It also has less overall volume than it did. I have replaced the preamp tubes with Ruby 12AX7HG5+ and the 6V6's with Ruby 6V6GTBC, and nothing changed.
If you've read in a previous post of mine, the amp is slightly modified to include the reverb/vibrato in the normal channel. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but...
Thanks in advance guys!

Too simple of an answer maybe, however it sounds like a bad solder joint

I would check the solder joints on the mod and resolder them if necessary.

Ok, thanks guys! I'll do that right now. My soldering skills aren't that of a professional, that's for sure!

Well. I took everything apart, resoldered the two connections I made, and put everything back together. I still have the same result. I shouldn't be able to hear my guitar through the amp when the amp volume is all the down right? Maybe one of you guys could check yours for me?

Hollis, Is it something that happened right after the mod? Or was the mod working fine and this just started happening. Is there a link to the mod? I'm curious as to what's involved.
