Hello,

I own a Frontman 212 100W and a POD XT Live. I want to use the POD to do amp modeling. I know the best way is to use the effect loop (pre in effect in) but I have a few questions about the amp. The whole purpose is to bypass the pre amp section and just use the post amps but I notice the tone controls, which I assume is pre amp section, still works. One question I have is exactly what is considered a flat setting here as far as tone control settings if anyone knows.

Also the volume controls are operating very strangely when I use this option. From zero on clockwise turn it gets to 1 or 2 and that is as loud as it gets! Am I doing this right? Am I doing something wrong?

Are you plugging your guitar into the pod then your pod left output straight into the"Effects return".

Then are you using the output volume and the channel volume alone to alter the overall volume?

Just need to clear this up

I have only treid it one way, guitar into the amp input, pre in to POD input, and then left mono to effect in. There is no doubt this way "colors" the signal with tone controls as changing them affects the sound tone. I suspect I could also try it guitar in the POD and then just mono left to effect in. This would elimnate the entire pre amp sedction, I suspect.
