Hi all,

I have a question regarding amp electrical parts. I have '94 Fender Blues Deluxe. I live in the Philippines and so replacement parts are not readily available though importation is not a problem. Had a part recently replaced with a different Voltage and UF rating part and wondered if this was ok. Would there be any long term problems? Just wanted a 2nd opinion.

My tech saw that there was a leaking Electrolyitc Capacitor, a "noise filter", rated at 350V and 100UF. The tech replaced it with 450V 80UF because that was what was available locally.

Any technical opinion if this is ok?

Thanks in advance!
Galore

Galore, I see from the schematic the 100uf/350V filter capacitors are working as teams to filter the power supply. The 450V rating is fine. You may not even notice the small amount of change the lesser capacitance presents to the amp. I'd leave it alone untill you need to replace the one next to it. Then I'd use the 100uf/350V's for all of them. If your tech measured the new cap, I bet it was over 80uf anyway. Art
