ok, so i got a princeton 65. i got it off a friend a few years ago and worked fine. but i tired to play it last night and all that happened was it jus hummed. no sound what so ever! jus sat there and hum'd, like a buzzing sound. tired plugging in it over and over turn the volume and nothing but hum. anyone have this problem? if so is it easy to fix? thanks....

As far as the hum, do you still hear it if you turn all the controls down? One of the two main filter caps may be breaking loose from the PC board. This may also be causing the distorted noise.
I would pull the PC board out and reflow any cracked or questionable solder joints.

dude, the hum is always there......lol. even with all the knobs down, it still hums the same volume as with all the knobs cracked. with or without the guitar plugeded in. i'm going to pull the chasis tomorrow and check to see if i see anything loose. thanks
