I own a 1993 Blues DeVille 410. Living by the ocean, the chrome control panel has become quite rusty. Any idea on how to remove the rust without removing the names of the control knobs?

You could try a damp brillo pad (the ones that don't get soapy when wet). It works good for removing little rust spots on old chrome car bumpers and might even work on your amp. Not to sure about the lettering though, but it's still worth a try.

If you could take the chrome panel off (completely off the amp and knobs too), once you remove the rust you could spray over the panel with some clear coat to keep the rust away in the future.

That salt air can be a drag.

I have used car polish with a degree of success, use one like maguiers cleaner polish, one with a cleaning agent of some type will remove a great deal of surface rust and then help to protect it also.

Once you get the rust off... spray polyurathane or clear nail polish works well. be sure to take the chrome panel off the chassis before spraying... you DON'T wanna get that stuff inside the controls!
