Awhile back my amp stopped working. At one point the volume grew very loud and then just faded away.

It powers up but no sound. I've tried both speakers in another amp and they work fine. I checked the fuse but it looked fine. I put another one in to be on the safe side but nothing. There was no burning smell of any kind when it went out.

As a side note when I first received the amp I was having problems with the reverb the wires on the inside were not making proper contact which I was able to fix, but that does not seem to be the problem again.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I would love to fix this amp as it is one of my favorite solid state amps of all time. I don't want to take it in to have it fixed if it's something simple, but if it's not I will more than happily take it in for repairs.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

I think you'll need a tech to test it.

My guess is the power transformer from what you've described.

Good luck!
