The DRRI doesn't have a "middle" control in it's tone stack, but believe me, it doesn't need one. It's just right like it is.

Wait what no middle, then what happens... to the middles

You don't need to use the Vibrato. It turns on and off with a footswitch as does the reverb, but it still has no middle control.

oh sorry about that

but then you can't scoop the mids

could you just use a EQ pedal to do that?

Can i point out that just because it doesent have a, "Mid" dial it doesent mean it loses that frequency.... Otherwise Every champion 600 just wouldnt make any sound....

It will give you control of the the mids, its just more sensitive since they've all the bass, lo-mids have been put to one dial and the hi-mids, treble stuck on the other dial.

Besides, the normal channel takes pedals much better.

When you scoop the mids, it harder to cut the mix. You loose projection.

Tube Screamers aren't that bad. The Metal guys really like it. I never really got the whole scooped mid thing. It's okay if you want to get lost in the mix. LOL

The Boss DS-1 sounds pretty good.

With the Deluxe Reverb if you turn it up past 5 doesn't it create distortion, wouldn't it be not desired since its a "clean amp?"

Well, it gives natural overdrive which i believe is the desire.

The point is, if you want ultimate, un-miced clean goodness, get a twin.

If you want amp with lower wattage rate, early breakup, dont mind micing it and value your back, Go with the deluxe.

Just to be a pain, by the sounds of it, you might like the fender bassman. Its probably the best middle ground.

The DS1 to me is a can of angry bees. It's their cheapest pedal, and sounds like it. I think with all of the great pedals out there, you're better off saving up a few more dollars and getting something far better. Yes, I know that people like Steve Vai sound great with a DS1 in front of a screaming Marshall, but it's not the best pedal and his are all modified (by Keeley) anyways.

If you use a Tube screamer as a boost with little distortion, you can get a much better sound. I had mine (current model, not the re-issue) modded by Keeley and it's now very usable. It's not in the same league as the Paul Cochrane Timmy pedal or my Barber Direct Drive, but for some songs it works. For under $150, the Timmy pedal is the one to beat.

Yeh so like u said the Tube screamer is best used as a boost for a distortion channel not a clean channel.

What pedal would you use for something like the Twin Reverb?
