Hey Guys,

What cabs are ok to use with the Champion 600, would the Deluxe VM be a good choice?

Thx

This is a great question. The Champion 600 is listed at 4 ohms. Most of the cabinets I've looked at are 16 ohms. In fact, GC only seems to have one 4 ohm cabinet and it's a big 4x10.

And from what I understand, ohms shouldn't be mixed (?)

They can, if you have a 4 ohm amp you can use it with a 8 or 16 ohm cabs, however theres a volume drop and a wee bit of tone degradation.

However, if you have a particular cab in mind, Weber (I think) make a little box you put inbetween the amp and the cab that will convert the ohm rating to whatever you want.

I have a 4 ohms amp and it's driving a 16 ohms Marshall cab, 4x12. Rewiring was very easy, many diagrams out there.

Dont let a cab you like pass you by because of impedance.
