Hello good people.
Just wanted to know your feedback regarding these two different but beautiful amps.
I´ve played them both and they sounded quite good the diference in price(699 and 799) is about 100 euros beeing the deluxe more expensive.
From what i´ve read there it seems to be a lot of issues regarding the hotrod so...please leave your oppinions here.
I´ve delayed the buy until friday but already gave a downpayement for the deluxe.
I ´m influenced by blues mostly but also jazz and funk.

Thank you

You need to decide what Your needs are. I know that's no help to you though. They're both really popular amps. Personally I don't care for the HRD series amps. Been there, done that. They sound great but I just needed something more bullet proof. Have you tried the 65 DRRI? That amp may open a whole new world tone wise.

No i have not unfortunatelly the only two fenders that existed(all valve) are the ones i tried so...

Here's my 2 cents worth. I own both a Blues Deluxe Reissue (with the matching tweed extension cabinet) and a Blues Jr. (although my Blues jr. is not the Texas Red, just the standard one). I believe I read somewhere that the Tx Red had a different speaker than the standard jr.

Anyway, I love the sound of both amps. For my style, since the jr. is a one channel amp, I must have at least a tubescreamer to go with the jr. so that when I go into a soloing mode, it can be done with just the tap of a foot. That means another $100.

The Blues Deluxe is tougher to keep control of the volume in some environments. It must be loud to get the best tone. It is, however, a 2 channel amp, so you can get by with no effects pedals.

So, where will most of your playing be? Need more or less volume? Portability is certainly better with the 12 to 15# lighter jr.

I have nothing to say negative about either amp, except that I always felt that the jr. was over-priced for the features you get (1 channel, 15 watts), but at home, and for informal "grab your amp and go" jams I'd choose the jr. To play gigs in sizeable venues, the BDRI would be my choice.

That's it for what it's worth. Good luck!

Thank u for your reply
According to this : http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=13979
"Fender Blues Junior "Texas Red" Tolex: Uses Celestion Vintage 30 speaker. And is limited to 800 worldwide"
I dont need much volume since i´m playing mainly in my house so i guess the bj would do the trick but because the difference in price isnt that big, only 100 euros, the difference in sound and quality is bigger on the BDR.
Thanks

The 15watt blues jr. is great for small pubs and jams. If your not going to mic thru a P.A, at larger gigs, I would go with the blues deluxe 40watt. I liked mine, but ended trading for a vintage Silverface twin which I use for larger gigs.
