I'm considering a Super Sonic and would appreciate any and all feedback/opinions on this amp. Mostly blues, mostly at home, playing a variety of Strats and Les Pauls with single coils, P-90s, and humbuckers. Any suggestions for a better choice? Thanks guys.

I just bought one! I'd sold enough stuff on Ebay to have the cash and wanted a Twin reissue. Would have considered the Super. So I find out Guitarcenter is out of both. No problem, I say. There are lots of other stores around. But, they had two Super-sonics. One used tan one and one new black one. The black one had been at the store for a very long time, and they let it go for $100 less than the used one! So, I bought it. My first regret is that its only a 1X12. But the amp puts out for only one speaker. I play Blues, Rock, R&B, Classic Rock. I really like the vintage tones of the Vibrolux and the Bassman. The Vibrolux is a little weak when switched back and forth from the Bassman, so it needs to be turned up more. Now, I had a vintage Bassman. The Super-sonic is cool because it adds a reverb and the high gain channel to the Bassman. I don't need a tremolo, and I'm glad it doesn't have one. So, I've been playing the Bassman setting and switching to the high gain channel from time to time. The sound, according to my band mates, is great. I have to agree. The Super-sonic also handles pedals very well. I use a tube screamer, red llama and the Deluxe Reverb pedals. For lead, I just use a pickup booster. No issues with the pedals. In fact, on a clean Vibrolux setting, the Deluxe Reverb pedal sounds awesome. I also don't like complicated amps. The Cyber-Twin was no fun for me. The Super-sonic is simple to use. You can play it right out of the box. I might get an extension cabinet at some point.

Thanks for the info, man. This amp seems to have the features I'm interested in--multiple tones from a couple of classic amps and yet the ability to get some strong gain sounds with the cascading gain feature. Guess I'll just have to head to GC and play one for awhile.
Do you play single coils or humbuckers through it? Do they both sound good? thanks.

I play mostly Fender.....Tele, Esquire, Strat. They sound really good. I also have a SG Standard and a Les Paul Jr (P90). I thought the SG sounded ok, but the Jr. sounded a little brittle. I haven't had time to properly fiddle with the settings for the Gibsons. I was getting ready for a gig with a songwriter, who wanted clean and bright. So, I spent all my time since I bought the Super-sonic, figuring out clean and bright!

crazyunclebill - you will not find a better amp for all your gears. The reality is that, there are perfect guitar-amp match whether you use a strat, a tele, les paul, es0335, P-90 equipped guitar, etc. One of the big seller for me about the Supersonic is that it pairs extremelly well with just about any electric guitar. My ES-335 epiphone copy sounds extremelly well in the brighter Vibrolux channel, and my MIA strat sounds like heaven in the bassman channel.

TDS-Thanks for the info. the versatility of this amp is it's biggest attraction to me. I know that you can't get every sound from one amp (of course, my wife doesn't understand this) but the SS seems to cover alot of the ground I want. I just need to spend a while pickin' on one!

The super sonic is the amp that fender has put all of there years of experience into. We bought matching amps with 4x12 cabs for our lead players and thought that we would miss the reverb. But the pure saturation of tone is so very intense that reverb is not an issue.
The sound is so very crisp without being naked. It has all the balls you could wish for without any noise to muddy anything up.
Thumbs up to the super sonic.
