The best thing you can do is go play them both, take your guitar in with you. All should become clear.
Of course maybe you should have a play of the Champion 600 while you're at it, especially if you're after classic blues and rock tones... it might suit you better.
But you know you should really really have a play of the Blues Junior, because ultimately that's probably your amp.... and the master volume will let you get nice bluesy tones at bedroom levels. There's every chance that before too long you'll find a champ to be just not enough and you'll end up looking at the BJ anyway.

you are a sox fan, I am a Yank...so no way wil I help you...LOL  IMO try both but I will tell you from experience I own a SCXD and it is the best amp I have ever owned. I gig with it and I also record heavily with it. The tone down low is just as sweet as the tone is when cranked!!! On the baseball side you will be my friend until April 4th when we open the season at Fenway :D LOL...but seeing how you like Fender, I can forgive your transgressions my son...LOL

+1 on a blues jr., If you decide to play out at a pub, or open mic/jam, this 15watt amp works well.

If you just plan on playing it at home, I'd go with the Vibro Champ. I have a 74 Champ and at 6 watts it's plenty loud for a lot of applications like recording and jamming with friends.

For small pubs and open mics it can be mic'd. Most open mic's in my area supply the amps. They don't even want you to bring one because it takes too long to set up.

People know how I feel about the anything in the Hot Rod series. You can do a lot better for the money. (sorry guys, but you can) I won't get into it now, just do a search.

My tech tells me the Champ 600's are dropping like flies. It's the cheap board and component syndrome.

The Champs are cool. I'd actually go for an old Silverface Champ. Hand wired, easy to repair if needed and still affordable.

+1 on the Silverface champ.
I had a 1981 VIbrochamp for a while, they returned to the blackface styling for a while there and it sounded great and looked super cool, like a miniaturized version of my Vibroverb :) As far as I know the champ circuit barely changed at all from the early 60s until at least the early 80s, making them a mini-classic. Any of the silverface champs will bring a smile to your dial, especially with the Vib.

Hi redsoxfan2! I faced the exact same choice when I bought an amp back in August. The Vibro Champ and Super Champ are both well-suited to low volumes (as well as surprisingly high volume--at least for home). They both have the same selection of voices. I ultimately chose the Super Champ because it also has a dedicated clean channel. However, I don't think you can go wrong with either one of them. Make sure you let us know what you choose--and post pictures! 8)

I bought a Super Champ XD sight and sound unseen several weeks ago based completely on the recommendation of airbornestrat.

He was 100% with his review of the amp! It's perfect. You can't go wrong with a SC XD. It was $300 delivered to my door from American Musical Supply. Great deal on a great amp!

Sox,
Great choice,,,here is a cheat sheet hopefully it will help you find the tone..":)
ABS
Here's the requested/haven't tried these all, yet-SCXD settings-thanks to many members of various forums. Enjoy, and let us know if you find a setting you like (or can't live without)...

Voice #1 (Champ tone)
Gain: 5, Vol: 5, Treble: 5-6, Bass: 4.5, Fx: Spring reverb, Level: 2.5.

Voice #2 (Instant Clapton)
Volume 2.5 if bedroom, Gain 10, Bass 5, Treble 5, Reverb to taste....maybe none.

Voice #2 (Tweed w/ gain set at 6-8)
Gain: 6, Vol: 6, Treble: 5, Bass: 8, Fx: Spring reverb, Level: 2.5.

Voice #2 (Cranked Fender in the studio)
Gain: 7, Voice: 2, Treble: 4.5, Bass: 3.5, FX Level: 2.8, FX: Spring reverb.

Voice #3 (Tweed voice)
Gain: 5, Vol: 3, Treble: 7-8, Bass: 7-9, Fx: Spring reverb, Level: 2.5.

Voice #3 ("Funk 49" Strat-bridge pup and no effects)
Gain at about 7.

Voice #3 ("Sunshine of Your Love" Strat-Overdriven Tweed)
Gain 4, Volume: up to you, Bass 4, Treble 4, Reverb Setting 2 (concert hall), level 4.

Voice #4 (Nice Chicago Blues Tone on Strat)
gain 5-6, bass 10, treble 6-7, reverb ="spring", volume 6-8.

Voice #8 ('Live' Marshall-type sound)
Gain: 8, Treble: 3.5, Bass: 8, FX Level: 4.8, FX: reverb + delay.

Voice #11 (Les Paul Guitar-PAF bridge pup for Cream, Led Zepplin, Bluesbreakers)
Gain: 7, Treble: 4, Bass: 7, FX Level: 4.5, FX: large room reverb.

Voice #14 (Strat on neck or middle pup) Gain just below 2, vol 5, treb 6, bass 8, fx level 2.5 fx spring reverb.

Voice #14 (Strat & Tele-keep the volume up on the guitar-Strat position volume 2, tone knob 3; Tele position 2, tone knob a bit above "low")
Volume - to taste, Gain - 1.5, Treble - 6, Bass - 6, FX - Reverb 4 (reverb + delay), FX Level - 3.

Voice #15 (Fingerstyle using Tele neck pup-works for Church hymns/music)
Gain: 8.5, Vol: 4, Treble: 5-6, Bass: 4.5, Fx: Spring reverb, Level: 2.5.

Voice #15 (335 humbucker guitar, Wes Montgomery-style without the distortion)
Gain: 3.5, Vol: 6, Treble: 5, Bass: 6, Fx: Spring reverb, Level: 2.5.

BJr. Settings (compare the typical BJr setting-if you have one: vol 5, T8, B8, M5 with TwinStack, so like mids off without Twinstack. Presence normal, no Fat, no boost.) vs.

SCXD-like BJr:
1. Clean Channel-Channel 1, Treble 7, Bass 10.

2. Voice #5
gain 4, Treble 7, Bass 10 (gotta make up for that 12" speaker)

3. Voice #10
gain 2.5 to 4, treble 9, bass 10.
