Is Fender ashamed of that rig or something?
I happen to love that rig!

I wondered what happened to it, i think that maybe it was fenders attempt to jump into the high gain league and they did a pretty fine job but sadly people dont think of fender as a, "Metal" amp maker so it was kinda overlooked.

Its the same with ibanez, because alot of metal players use ibanez, people seem to think they're only good for metal but they're amazingly versitile guitars! I played a jazz and blues gig once with my RG2550 MZ and it sounded amazing.

That is one of the things I love about playing Prosonics. Folks see what looks like a Blackface vintage Fender and overlook it. That is untill I hit the crunch channel. You ought to see some of the Churchs Sound guys faces the first time they hear one of these flamethrowers! Whaaa   LOL.
Folks in the crowd hear stuff like this
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... ID=4862091
They come up afterwards to see what I'm playing through and there sits a blackfaced fender COMBO and there is no distortion pedal. Freaks folks out big time!!

brother, at 2000 bucks a head , i don't think that fender is ashamed of them. it may be the whole eddie van halen thing todays guitarists (at least those born after the '80s )don't realy have the want or need for all things eddie. if that stuff had come out 25 years ago it would have never stayed on the shelf. i'm not saying that younger guitarists don't respect eddie but they don't have the insparation that used to be there. maybe he will come out with some new music soon and take us all back to school(like 1978).

The reason for my statement on wondering if Fender was ashamed of these amps is.
1- they don't appear ANYWHERE on the site here.
2-I have only seen 2 EVER in shops so you can't get your hands on them to play one in most places.
Other than that and the $2000 + street price tag those are KILLERS that should sell. That is if anybody ever gets a chance to see the things in person and play through one.

Thats the problem, if your a metal player after a head and a cab and at that price range you have the choice of loads of other metal heads that are proven for metal, such as a Peavey 6505 or a marshall JCM or maybe even a second hand Diezel (Not that diezel is exclusively a metal players amp).

My point is, people who want to play blues, jazz and indie tend to go for fender, people who play the harder stuff tend to go for marshall and peavey.

Its a stereotype which is funny because i have a twin which i use for hard rock, alternative and ambient.

Wouldnt expect that would you? But its just a better range of tone then that, "Wall of sound" that most people are going for.

Don't forget Stradlin's parts on Appetite for Destruction were recorded with a Blackface Bassman head, just guitar straight in.

I know loads who use Fender amps for harder rock, albeit blues based but hard none the less.

Myself included!

Keep in mind I'm the guy who is running Fender heads for heavier stuff with out a big pedal board. My Prosonics don't need help tp CRUSH out some metal. So I went in looking for a 5150 III. I'm in the largest City and higest population metro area in my State and I stll can't find one to play.I have never seen a 5150 III in my Guitar Center nor have I ever seen a super Sonic head. If I can't find one to play through at this price point I am not going to touch one!
Here are my Prosonic flamethrowers no effects just guitar amp cab
Home studio only effects a wah

No effects guitar straight into my Prosonic head

I guess there's a lot of amps that do the metal thing better.

Although I wouldn't classify myself as a total metalhead, I do enjoy it sometimes. When I went looking for a new amp I was close to buying a Peavy tube amp. But the salesman at GC showed me a scxd and I blown away. Not only could I get some oldschool metal tones, but there are so many more as well.

I don't think I could play any numetal or death metal with it (not that I'd want to), but I could dial in some Metallica, Maiden and Priest. Plus this amp sounds great for Zepplin and AC/DC too.

Not only was this amp cheaper than the Peavy but Fender holds their value better than many amps as well. And they are alot more affordable than a Marshall tube.

So I guess Fender isn't considered a "metal" amp, It seems like it can hold it's own.

Unless you live in britain. You can practically eliminate all costs and just pick it up from the factory....

Same with HiWatt but im not sure about HiWatt. They seem a little off to me.
