Hello, I have one simple question: is it normal for the Vibrato Channel to be a tad brighter (and consequently less pedal friendly) than the Normal Channel? Thanks!

No. Mine's a 76 100 watt SF. I don't know about the newer ones though,

Thanks for the reply, mine is a '65 Reissue so maybe it should not compare to yours, let's wait and see if someone else has the same impression with a new amp. It may as well be a preamp tube problem, but they're all original GT and swapping them made no difference. Still, I do not know all of the 12ax7/t7 roles, V1 to V6 so I don't know which to replace to make a difference to each feature of the amp (clean, vibrato, reverb)

Hey! I own a 65 twin reverb Reissuse but it was made back in 1990 so its a but weathered but still.

The valves go in this order, V1 12at7, V2 12ax7, V3 12ax7, V4 12at7, V5 12ax7, V6 12ax7.

Make sure these are right otherwise they'll screw up your amp.

As for you pedal theory, thats interesting, i never ever use the normal channel....

I'll get my rig out tomorrow and i'll try it out.

Actually it's not the order that puzzles me, that's written in the back of the amp so no problems there. I don't know what they do, so which is the reverb driver, which is used for the vibrato, etc...

Ah, right. I know for a fact that Supro knows the functions. Im sure he'll see this eventually and set the facts straight.

Art would probably know better than me. I use a tech for my Twin, it's really complex. My simpler amps I maintain myself.

Hi Alesssandro. Maybe this can help. But I'm not good enough on the computer to manipulate the page, so it's in text. V1-normal channel pre amp. V2-vibrato channel pre amp. V3- drives a portion of V2 signal into reverb circuit. V4(a) recovers reverb signal. V4(b)combines reverb and V2 signal and amplifies one more stage. V5-oscillates the combined vibrato channel signal and dumps off this signal to ground through the optocoupler. V6 is the phase inverter and driver for the power tube section. This is my basic overview. Art

Yes, it is normal for the vibrato channel to be brighter than the normal channel, actually it provides more treble boost. My 65' reissue exhibits the same characteristics, but it is normal as per the manual. If you go to "notes" section on page four of the manual it will explain the channels to you. Also, my twin takes pedals very well on both channels, it might be that you probably prefer the sound coming out of the normal channel. Enjoy your twin, I know I do.

its true, i never noticed it since i dont bother with the normal channel. I noticed it today and it has to be doubly true since its in the manual.
