Just pulled the pin on a new Blues Junior.

There seems to be a bit of a pre-xmas price drop on these at the moment (they're about 100 bucks LESS than a Pro Jr) so I didn't really have any other option but to buy one.

I pick it up in about 4 weeks. I could have got it today but as I'm about to go on an overseas holiday I'd be pretty pissed off if the house got burgled while I was away.

As soon as I have it I'll post pics to PROVE I actually have it!

In the meantime I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Cheers.

Just the plain ol' standard one. The tweed ones are VERY hard to find over here and then they cost about 400 bucks more. Was very happy with the way it sounded. I tried it with a standard Tele (which I have) and also a Strat. I can always do a speaker swap later on if I find it needs it.

There was also a nice, white, standard Strat hanging in the shop which just might be coming home with me when I pick up the amp.

Cheers. Hope you have a happy xmas!

Markus,
How can you think of going on Holiday, when there is a new amp coming?
You need to be waiting everyday on the front porch for the delivery truck!
:D :D :D

We will expect a sound bite!

Bill

I just recently purchased a BJ...#$@*&!% Great Amp...

I would not swap out the speaker nor mod it if I were you.

It sounds great as it is.

Enjoy when you get it Mate...

Thanks mate. Yeah I intend to play it for a while to see how it goes. So many people start talking about mods before they even get them. I loved the sound in the store so I hope it'll sound as good when I get it home.

Cheers.

Hey, hey. Picked it up yesterday! So Sweet!!

Oh and I didn't go for the white strat in the end. Got a Midnight Wine HSS instead!

Never had a tube amp before so it just sounds great. Even my Tele has a new lease of life! I was really worried about volume (being too loud) but with the Master I can get great tone without blowing out the windows.

Giddy-up!

nice purchase on both!

Our other guitar player has one, and really likes it; he owns a SF Champ that just wasn't working for him live.

The one thing he did get for playing live with it that has been indespensible is this:

Lets his ears hear the amp vs. his ankles...

Yep I'm in the process of making a little amp stand for mine just to raise it up and tilt it back a bit. Otherwise I have to move back six paces to get the full sound.

Cheers.

I think the tweeds are overrated, swapping a couple tubes and a speaker aren't worth the price difference. Tweed covering is nice, but not durable. In the US, the NOS Tweeds are running $569 (as low as $519 at one point), the regular is $399 now. I don't think the tubes and speaker cost that much more to justify the price....

steviesnacks.com has a couple videos comparing the two...

mhainz, great amp purchase. Just purchased the NOS version and couldn't be happier. Like you it was my first tube amp and now I can finally hear what I've been missing using solid state. Now if my playing would just get a little better.

Where can I find a regular Blues Jr for $399? I might pick one up this weekend if that's the case. :D
