I am looking for an practice amp for 200$ or less and I dont know if I should get a behringer v tone 210 (I think, maybe 200), a line 6 spyder 4, or a fender frontman. I am lokking for something with a variety of effects and that has great sound for all types of music. If you have any tips or suggestions for different amps then please feel free to right. thanks!

If you have to stay under $200 and are looking at in home practice volume I would take the VibroChamp. Lots of features like the SCXD but with one channel, 8" speaker. A nice tube amp with digital effects. If you want solid state you might consider one of the Fender FM amps with dsp. The FM25dsp and FM65dsp should be in that price range. A nice variety of amp modeling and digital effects. Good luck in your search.

Try the Line 6 15 watts..plenty loud and has 4 channels..I don't regret getting mine..it's like $70. Try Craigslist - people are always getting rid of similar amps for next to nothing.

I agree on the line 6.

it is a fantastic practice amp, as long as that is really all you are using it for. It is definitely not a gigging amp. I'm not a big fan of the clean sound (but a lot of people are) but it gives you the biggest variety and it is a great songwriting tool to have a lot of sounds at your fingertips.

I own one, i love it for home practice. I like plugging headphones in and playing high gain stuff, its nice to get that sound while the roommate is sleeping in the next room over.

Sorry guys, I meant to say 5 tube watts are louder than 15 ss watts. It's even louder than 30 ss watts. My 6 watt Champ is a lot louder than my GDec 30 @ 30 watts.

The Champ hands down. But I'm not a real fan of solid state amps anyway. The Champ will seriously sound better. YMMV Just do a side by side and listen for yourself. You have to live with it.

What about a Fender champion 600? it gives a delicious tone, so much so that some people used to record with it.

To me the 600 sounds boxy and gets real raspy when you push it. The 6" speaker and really small cabinet as well as the thick grillcloth really kills the tone in stock form. Put the 600 through a 10" or 12" speaker and it really comes alive. But, GC has them for $99 right now. I'd look on Ebay for a SF Champ. You can get clean ones for under $300.

I have the Behringer V-Tone GMX 210. I wish I wasn't such a novice so I could give you a real objective opinion on it other than... "I like it!" Sorry.

It was very reasonable. Paid $130 for a previously enjoyed unit.

Thanks everyone!! But I have one more question. I recently saw a Fender FM 25 DSP Frontman Combo Amp and I wondered if it ws better than the vibro champ? I will go down to guitar center sometime and try them out but im in england for a while so it might be abit tricky. thanks again! :)

Personally , I think the vibro champ will be a better sounding and louder amp of the 2.Try them out yourself.
