O.K. I've sung the praises of a lot of fender tube amps here, and there is forever a small handfull that will make some negative comment about any peticular amp design type ect.....

Good luck with this one, I have owned and played 1940's 1960's 1970's 80's 90's ect... Tube amps and this is the very best one yet !!!!

I have a pair of RI tung-sol 6V6 power tubes in there and man does it sing.

I'm shure its been talked about over and over , but it deserves it.

Mine is a few years old, the original owner says he has had it I think he said six years ??? made in the good old USA.

Blows away my 59 RI bassman for tone and feel too !!!

How's the build quality/reliability on these things? Any stock parts particularly susceptible to failure? If so, are the parts fairly simple and inexpensive to upgrade?

I really like the DRRI, and would love to gig with one, but before I buy one, I just wanted to make sure I can count on them to be reliable, which the exception of the unpredictability of tubes.

Hey bill948

Ya even better, however the supersonic has a lot more up its sleeves.

The 65 RI is just an amazing tone producer.

For those of us who chase the dream of tone, it flat out SINGS !!!!!

I thought that late 1940's princeton i had was sweet, this is better.

As far as reliability, The thing looks to be made of all the best componants.

Anyone know if they are still made here in the USA ???

Thought I'd jump in with a hell'ya. I love my DRRI, which I've had since August. It's a fantastic sounding amp all the way around for rock, blues, country, psychedelic womp rat music: just about anything a body might want to play. Mine is entirely stock. I just played a while back live with it and it easily kept up with the drummer yet sounds decent at low volumes.

The more I play it the more attached to it I become, I guess I'll be hooked on 6V6 powered amps forever !!!

And the tube rectifier thing too.

It also seems to be one of the best built amps I have had in the last few years.

I could see putting a 16 ohm speaker in it and using a 16 ohm extension cab to get a little more 3D to the sound and keeping the 8 ohm rating intact.

But the idea of changing anything on this amp does not apeal to me at all.

The DRRI is hands down one of the finest amps Fender currently offers.
Reliable, sounds incredible and is built for the long haul.
