Thanks guys,

I went into the music store recently. I'll have to look into the deluxe reverb. I'm kind of interested in the twin reverbs. I want to test the amps, how do people usually do it at a store? Do they bring their own guitar, or use something similar to what they have that the guitar store has. Problem is the store I go to doesn't deal in Gibson, and I'd like hear a Les Paul through the amp before I sink 800 or more dollars in it.

The twin is WAY loud! It is also one of the best and cleanest amps around. Your Gibsons will sound wonderful through it. I have one but only because I wanted it so bad.

Keep in mind the tone you want to hear and the kind of music you play as well as your audience. I play outside on my deck in the summer and people from blocks away hear it and the close neighbors HATE me!

I agree with several others in regards to the DRRI. I purchased one in August of this year and it's the best sounding amp I ever owned. It also has no trouble keeping up with a drummer. I would caution against the TRRI, only because it's heavy, more expensive, and loud enough to kill the elderly or small animals. It's an amp you can use to play stadiums, I think. You certainly would never be able to crank it loud enough to get natural overdrive out of it. Of course most of us use pedals of one sort or another. So yes, the DRRI is my recommendation.

Strat,
I would bring my guitar to the store...the reason why is you know it and you want to hear the amp with your guitar through it. from my experience I bought an amp and used a guitar off the rack...when I got it home and plugged in my guitar...big difference. JMO.

Above is some excellent advice.

First of all I'm biased but I'll say it's either the CS 57 Twin Tweed or The CS Vibro- King . JMHO!

High priced and not for all for sure.

You're biased and the recipient of trust fund money I would say! All kidding aside, the CS 57 Twin does sound incredible: at least it does when played through by Clapton or Keith Richards cause I've never personally played through one nor seen one live, for real, in person. Unfortunately I don't have the space for another amp or the money. Now which could be the reason why I haven't acquired one?

The CS Vibro-King I don't have any sense of. Is it more so a clean amp? Nonetheless, interesting input.

The reason I mentioned the CS Vibro-King is that I've seen Pete Townsend using them. Like I said they aren't cheap but the OP asked about the best Fender amps. Here is a link to them.

what about a supersonic twin it has the capability of being switched between 100 watts and 25 watts, do you consider this a pretty good amp that would cover just about all venues including out door open areas for gigs at parks and things like that

Threads here typically run their course in a couple days. To get info on a specific amp, you will likely get useful responses by posting a new thread. This is the section for the Supersonic.

Hang around. You will learn a lot.

You might consider posting a new thread. Most people will click on this. See it is from 2009 and move on before they get to your question.

I, for one, appreciate using existing threads, keeping the info together, and the fact that the new member was thoughtful enough to search the forum before starting yet another thread about the same thing.

Welcome chriscreole. 8)
